DALLAS ROAD TRIP IDEAS // 10 THINGS WE LOVE ABOUT VISITING HYATT LOST PINES IN 2021

Updated: Jun 23, 2021

Dallas- if you're looking for a road trip weekend idea that's only a few hours from Dallas then head to Hyatt Lost Pines, nestled right outside of Austin. The outdoor oasis is a perfect staycation for those in Austin and a great getaway for all our Dallas peeps. You can enjoy the great outdoors with horseback riding, archery, fishing and other outdoor activities. Or spend the weekend relaxing at their spa, or hit their golf course for a great round and stunning views of Bastrop!

1. It's an easy drive from Dallas that makes you feel like you are far away from the hustle and bustle of city life

Only 3.5 hours from Dallas, this is an easy after-work drive to escape Dallas for the weekend. Hyatt Lost Pines made us feel like we were secluded from the world, even if we were only about 30 minutes outside of Austin. Weekend getaways that you can get to by car are the best! If you did want to fly, Austin's airport is only 25 minutes away, you could grab a rental car and head on over.

2. The massive lazy river and waterpark to help escape the Texas heat

Any Texan knows the most important factor in choosing your summer getaway is what the pool scene looks like. Lost Pines has a massive 1,000 foot lazy river, a two-story water slide and water park for you (and the kiddos!) to enjoy all day long.

3. There is an adult-only pool

If you aren't traveling with kiddos, then head over to the adult-only pool. You will find this roped off from the lazy river with cabanas available to rent, chairs, umbrellas and a bit quieter scene.

4. The newly updated rooms are spacious, modern and extra clean

We were in a King room that overlooked the pond. The room was overly spacious and extra clean. Not only did our room have a King bed but also mini fridge, couch and seating area with a table. Our balcony also had 2 chairs and a little table which were perfect to sit out on and read a book and relax a bit in between our activities and meals.

5. The live music around the property

When we checked in we were greeted with live music in the lobby followed by live music that night outside of dinner. The following night, we ended up grabbing a pizza to go with some wine and beer from the bar and went to listen to music while we ate and drank and enjoyed the sunset. It was a perfect way to end the night after being poolside for most of the day!

6. Free S'mores kits every night

The fire pits are lit daily at sunset and the team at Hyatt Lost Pines makes the cutest S'Mores kits for you to roast! This was such a fun surprise we thoroughly enjoyed and took advantage of each night!

7. horseback Ride along the golf course

When you drive into the resort you will pass Renegade Trailhead for horseback riding through the trails. They made the experience so personal with extra time to get to know the horse's personalities. There was also a "how-to" for those of us who weren't experienced riders. We knew the trails would be gorgeous but we were surprised with how many views included peeking through the trees to see the beautiful greens on the course.

8. The golf course with stunning views of Austin and Bastrop

Speaking of golf, the course at Wolfdancer is absolutely beautiful. The greens were in perfect condition and the views of Austin and Bastrop were incredible!

9. on-site animals // longhorns, goats, etc.

You can visit the on-site corral with cows, longhorns, goats and more. BUT you may also catch the animals around the resort. When we walked outside after breakfast, we were greeted by a crowd of kids waiting to get their picture taken with the llamas who were walking around. Where else can you see llamas after breakfast right at your resort?

10. You can grab a bike and explore the property on 2 wheels

Right by the pond you'll see a rack with bikes of all sizes for patrons to use to get around the resort. Even though the property is completely walkable, it was fun to grab a bike and zip around to see the spa, the animals, go around the fire pits, sports courts and see the resort on 2 wheels. The weather was so nice and it was such a change of pace to get around!

This is a weekend getaway spot you won't want to miss, so make sure to add it to The Love List! ✨💕
