Where To Take Your Date on a Hunt for the Perfect Skyline Views

We're constantly being asked about fun activities in DFW that don't involve dining and drinking. One of our favorite pastimes has always been hunting the perfect skyline photos of our beautiful city. Here are a few places we keep going back to in search of the picture perfect Dallas views. Impress your date with a fun adventure at any of the spots on this list!

1. reunion tower

Bring your date to Dallas' famed rotating ball in the sky, where ticket packages include (1) a day-and-night viewing, where adult tickets are $24 apiece, and (2) the special "Love is in the air package." The package includes two observation deck general admission tickets, VIP elevator service, a digital picture and an analog 5x7 silver picture frame, two complimentary sparkling glasses of wine and two commemorative Reunion Tower flute glasses. You have to start the booking process by using the website's contact form, and you need to reserve your space with at least 48 hours' notice.

The third option is the Official Dallas City Pass, which for $47 each, gives you admission to four premier Dallas attractions: the Reunion Tower observation deck, the Perot Museum, and then your choice of two of the following three: the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, the Dallas Zoo and/or the George P. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. Your access to all four is valid for 9 days after purchase, so you don't have to cram all four attractions into one exhausting date!

2. canvas hotel gallery rooftop lounge

Soak in the infinity pool when it's seasonally appropriate to do so with these inspiring views of the Dallas skyline and a craft cocktail in hand at the Gallery Rooftop Lounge. The rooftop bar at the Canvas Hotel offers drinks and refreshing small plates, plus endless photo-ops for artists and muses alike. The Gallery is such an inspiring place to soak up all the Dallas vibes, whether you’re a hotel guest or a Cedars District local.

3. upside west village

The dramatic panoramic Dallas skyline views at Upside West Village are truly something to behold. Upside sits on the eighth floor of the Canopy Hotel by Hilton in Uptown’s West Village, and its sizable outdoor patio boasts a sweeping view of our beaautiful Dallas skyline. The restaurant also serves bar snacks, craft beers, bubbles, wine, and cocktails. It is an amazing chic spot to grab a drink with friends and snap the perfect skyline photos.

4. at&T DISCOVERY DISTRICT

For a picture perfect urban view from ground level, there are few better spots downtown than the AT&T Discovery District. There's plenty of green space to enjoy, whether you're getting a little work done at The Grove or posing for selfies with the century-old Golden Boy statue. They routinely hold free events, and the grounds are surrounded by great spots to get a drink and a bite as well.

5. happiest hour

Nighttime is the right time for the amazing, sweeping rooftop views at Happiest Hour. The patio space is truly ginormous, so you can catch that beautiful Dallas skyline at the perfect angle as you're sipping on craft beer and creative cocktails from one of their four full-service bars or snacking on some of the best bar food in town.

6. travelling man sculpture — deep ellum

Located near the DART Deep Ellum rail station just east of Downtown, the "Travelling Man" is a $1.4 million sculpture series that plants one foot in the rich history of Deep Ellum, the other foot in the neighborhood's bright future and appears to be wandering above the adjacent downtown Dallas skyline to passersby. It's truly an iconic stop for your Dallas photo reels.

7. trinity groves

Just west of the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge sits Trinity Groves, one of the really interesting dining neighborhood nooks in Dallas. Several spots in the Trinity Groves area also set you up for some really great skyline snaps. In particular, we love the views from Saint Rocco's. Check out their posh rooftop space, which is open on Friday and Saturday evenings for late-night happy hour.

8. ruibal's at the dallas farmers market

The view of Ruibal's at the Farmers Market with the Downtown Dallas Skyline in the background is one of the coolest, most unique skyline snap on our list. Especially seasonally. In the fall, you can snap this photo op with a pile of pumpkins in the foreground, and during the holidays, it comes packed with Christmas trees and other decor.

9. adolphus hotel pooldeck

A Dallas classic and one of our personal faves is the Adolphus, located right in the heart of downtown Dallas. Head 14 stories up and stop by the bar to grab a cocktail or glass of wine. You can also rent a cabana or enjoy the sunshine and pool deck with an array of light bites and seasonal fare served all day poolside!

10. marriott uptown pooldeck

The rooftop pool deck at the Marriott Uptown features some of the most under-the-radar scenic Dallas views in town, and the pool is heated, so feel free to step outside and enjoy in almost any weather! With so much to do in Uptown, a stay at the Marriott makes a ton of sense anyway, but the rooftop pool deck views put it over the top for us.

11. omni dallas pooldeck

The rooftop pool deck at the Omni Dallas is a true urban oasis in the center of downtown. Unwind in the therapeutic INFINITY pool, enjoy a cocktail or soak up the sun on one of the lounge chairs while overlooking all that downtown has to offer. It's one of those insta-worthy summer moments that will make your TL shine. Don't forget to wander over to the Uptown Terrace Pool Bar & Grill for more sweeping views of downtown and the perfect bites and cocktails to pair with your summertime relaxation!
