Excitement is brewing as Monday, April 8, the day the 2024 total solar eclipse will captivate skygazers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, is getting close! As celestial enthusiasts eagerly await this rare astronomical phenomenon, here are the optimal locations for viewing nature's awe-inspiring spectacle. In this comprehensive guide, we unveil the top spots offering prime vantage points for experiencing the breathtaking eclipse in all its glory. Whether you're a seasoned stargazer or a curious onlooker, check out the best places to immerse yourself in the wonder of the 2024 total solar eclipse in the path of totality in DFW.



1. Hotel Drover

Hotel Drover, our favorite hotel in the Fort Worth Stockyards will have live music, themed treats and cocktails, and Hotel Drover-branded eclipse glasses from 12-3 p.m. on April 8 in their Backyard. You can also enjoy the same cosmic-themed cocktails at The Mark from 7-8 p.m. this weekend!


2. Virgin Hotel Dallas

Get ready for an out-of-this-world celestial celebration during the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse Viewing Party at Virgin Hotels Dallas on Monday, April 8th from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.. Perched in the path of totality, The Pool Club is your destination in Dallas to witness this cosmic intervention. Join the festivities in Downtown Dallas for breathtaking views, live music entertainment, food and beverage specials and more!


3. Grandscape

Spectators can watch the eclipse at Grandscape’s Topo Chico Hard Seltzer Stage and Lawn with music and complimentary eclipse glasses. The event is free, from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. on Monday, April 8.


4. HG SPLY Co.

The HG SPLY Co. Lower Greenville location will host a rooftop viewing party with solar eclipse glasses, a live DJ, photo opps, and a $12 themed cocktail called the Lunar Libation — made with Mt. Gay Eclipse rum, lime, blueberry, and ginger beer. The event is free, but reservations are recommended.


5. Hall Arts Hotel

Hall Arts Hotel, the loveliest hang in the Arts District, is hosting a lunch on Monday with eclipse-themed cocktails and dishes at Ellie's Restaurant and Lounge. The special lunch menu will actually be available starting Friday, April 5. Ellie's will also be hosting a jewelry pop-up from Skilbell Fine Jewelry from April 5-8 as well. Learn more here.


6. Hotel Vin

Hotel Vin in Historic Downtown Grapevine will unleash Eclipse Bourbon just in time for the total solar eclipse. Any hotel guests will be able to view the eclipse from the property, and anyone is invited to its Lunar Lunch on eclipse day at the outdoor WineYard, which includes a complimentary glass of champagne and eclipse viewing glasses.


7. JOse

Jose, one of Dallas' most delicious Mexican food destinations, is hosting an eclipse viewing party on its patio. It will offer a complimentary pair of eclipse glasses, and a pair of special margaritas created especially for the day — the Luna Llena, a light and lovely option, and a black marg called the Luna Nueva.


8. On Rotation Brewery & Taproom

Join On Rotation's eclipse party from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 8 for an all-you-can-eat buffet of food, with drinks sold separately. Eclipse glasses will not be provided, so plan ahead! The views over this spot are unobstructed and will be magnificent. Tickets are available online for $30 per person.


9. Fearing's

Join Fearing's Celestial Soiree on the patio at the Ritz-Carlton. Light bites and “celestial” beverages will be offered during this viewing party, each timed to enhance the viewing experience. There will also be live music and experiences. Tickets are $49 and available online.


10. Dallas Museum of Art

The Dallas Museum of Art will be open on Eclipse Day, as will the attached cafe for a bite and a drink. Visitors will have access to the permanent collection for free from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and special exhibits will be ticketed as usual. The parking garage will also be open on a first-come, first-served basis. Pop across the street to Klyde Warren Park to watch the eclipse or sit on its outdoor patio with the food and drink of your choice, and tour the museum before or after.


11. the Kimpton Pittman Hotel

In Deep Ellum, the Kimpton Pittman Hotel will offer cocktails with an eclipse theme and access to its ground-level outdoor pool deck. There will be a tarot reader as well — talk about a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get your cards read with this kind of lunar insight.


12. Kessaku/Monarch

The incredible Dallas skyline views at Kessaku will be accessible as long as reservations remain available for its eclipse lunch. For $99 per person, guests will have access to a lunch buffet. For $150 reserve a guaranteed window seat and add a wine pairing to the festivities. Eclipse glasses will be provided. Tickets are available online here. Kessaku's sister restaurant, Monarch, is also participating.


13. Crown Block

Crown Block, at the top of Reunion Tower, will offer more than great views of the eclipse. It will also offer a $100-per-person lunch menu (drinks not included) on Monday they're calling the "Total Eclipse of the Heart." Guests are invited to dine on three courses, with entree options of filet mignon with fingerling potatoes and asparagus or cavatelli pasta with a medley of vegetables. Reservations are required, of course.


14. Fort Worth Zoo

Staff members at the Fort Worth Zoo are partnering with a North Carolina State University research team to observe the effect of the total eclipse on animal behavior. Zoo guests are invited to participate by filling out observation forms. The zoo, which opens at 10 a.m., will hold eclipse-themed discussions throughout the day. Eclipse glasses will be available upon arrival, while supplies last.


15. Fort Worth Botanic Garden

The Fort Worth Botanic Garden will welcome visitors between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for its "Eclipse in the Garden" event. While the official event costs the price of general admission and $3 for eclipse glasses, the garden will offer a free viewing area outside of the Garden Center. General admission to the garden ranges between free for children under 5 to $12 for adults. Admission and glasses are free to garden members.


16. Free Play Arcade

The Free Play Fort Worth location allows eclipse viewers to play a few arcade games on Eclipse Day. They'll pass out eclipse glasses while supplies last, and the patio and rooftop offer great views, beginning at 11 a.m.


17. Birdie's Social Club

Watch the Solar Eclipse at Birdie's, and enjoy a FREE show with live music by Playtown! Eclipse shades will be handed out to the first 300 guests. Free parking is provided in the lot at 5th and Foch Sts. The music starts at noon, and your dogs are also welcome as long as they are leashed.
