Start with a morning stroll around white rock Lake

White Rock lake is an especially upbeat spot to start the day with a morning stroll with mom. Starting points for a picturesque morning walk include the spillway at Garland Road and White Rock Drive as well as West Lawther Drive near Williamson and White Rock Road.

coffee at cafe duro

Follow up your leisurely stroll with coffee at one of our favorite spots in town, Cafe Duro on Lower Greenville. It’s a neighborhood cafe with coffee, including their own in-house brand, which you can buy in bags, as well as wine, paninis, and pizzitas. And it is in the running for the most charming spot on Greenville Avenue. Mom will love it.

brunch at knox bistro

Don't fill up at the cafe, because Knox Bistro, formerly Up on Knox, is one of our favorite brunch spots to take Mom. It's a chic, laid-back spot featuring a raw bar, caviar menu, steaks and seafood selections, plus craft cocktails. Located mere steps from the Katy Trail on Knox-Henderson, Knox Bistro also features fresh pastries and seasonal, rotating menu selections.

walk off brunch around knox street

Stick around Knox Street for a while and get a look at some of our favorite area hangouts, including Foxtrot, another amazing spot to sit a spell on the patio and have another coffee and pastry or just grab mom a cute gift, as well as Restoration Hardware, one of our town's leading purveyors of luxury home goods and furniture. While you're at it, why not also step inside and take a look around at Crate and Barrel or one of our favorite consignment shops in Dallas, The RealReal?

Then Head to the Arboretum's mother's day market

Treat mom to a day in the garden while you visit local artisans and pick up homemade treats at this year's Mother's Day Market at the Dallas Arboretum! This special gathering of premium vendors is happening this year May 13-14, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. You won't be able to miss it when you walk in — the vendors will be set up right inside the Arboretum's Main Entry Plaza.

grab a snack at the exchange at at&t Discovery District

Savor a grab-and-go or a sit-down experience with an expansive array of cuisines, all while taking in the beauty of the AT&T Discovery District's Media Wall, Plaza, and the Globe. They've got two stories, 16 different eateries and two full bars at The Exchange, so you're sure to find mom the perfect mid-afternoon snack here!

pop in to the historic adolphus hotel downtown

And while you're downtown, why not take mom for a quick drink or stroll around the grounds of one of Dallas' most venerated hotels and downtown landmarks, The Adolphus. Grab chic gifts at Commerce Goods + Supply, an iced coffee at Otto's Coffee and Fine Foods or something a little stronger at Rodeo Bar!

have a drink at coupes

Coupes in Highland Park is one of the most fabulous and refined stops on our list. They have more than 15 champagnes and sparkling wines by the glass as well as more than 50 labels by the bottle. It is THE spot for celebrating mom with bubbles in Dallas this Mother's Day. You can also snack on some light menu items that pair perfectly with bubbly.

dinner at bistro 31

Since you've already ventured out to HP for the last item on the list, why not stick around for dinner at this Highland Park hotspot with adjoining lounge? Head upstairs to Lounge31 to sip the iconic Chanel No31 cocktail before you feast on some of the best sushi in town. Be sure to snap plenty of photos while you're here because it is also one of the cutest places in town to hang out with Mom.

finish the day — ice cream sandwiches at pokey O'S

The ice cream cookie sandwiches at Pokey O's on Mockingbird are the perfect cap to the perfect Mother's Day out on the town. They've got more than 1,000 flavor combinations that combine their 13 flavors of fresh-baked cookies, 16 flavors of Blue Bell Ice Cream and all manner or toppings waiting to be rolled into the perfect sweet treat.
